    Dance Practice Schedule for May and June started by Sofie
    Dance Practice meetings are held on Monday nights, from 7pm to 8:30pm.

    Our fair-weather meeting location is Grand Haven's Central Park, across the street from the Community Center (421 Columbus Ave, Grand Haven, MI 49417).
    Our foul-weather location is the Spring Lake District Library (123 E. Exchange St, Spring Lake, MI 49456).
    I will be posting at least two days in advance which location we will be using.

    We will NOT hold a practice on Memorial Day, May 25th.

    Our weekly Monday night meeting is CANCELED for Monday, March 2. We will meet in the Spring Lake District Library's "Local History Room" to work on research and small crafts from 7pm to 8:30pm on Monday, March 9. See you then!
    Dance Practice for the next 6 weeks... started by Sofie
    ... will be held on Mondays from 7pm to 8:30pm at the Spring Lake Public Library. On Jan 19th, we'll be in the Program Room at the front of the building, but on January 26th we'll be in the smaller Local History Room. On that day we won't have the space to practice dances, so please bring research or small crafts projects with you to work on.

    Our February schedule is: in the Program Room on the 2nd and 9th, and in the Local History Room on the 16th and 23rd.

    Remember, all meetings held at the Library are open to the public, so please wear garb -- a hat or cloak only is fine, or throw a tunic over your street clothes.

We may decide to take brochures in hand and go meet some of the library patrons, so be prepared!

    Weather attacks again... there's no sense risking life or limb on our snowy roads! Location for next week will probably be at Muskegon Community College -- I will confirm this as soon as I am able.

    We will have a dance practice/social hour/dinner at 7pm at Pigeon Creek Lodge. Location information is below. Dinner for November 10th will be Rus Chicken, Broccoli with Rice, and Baked Apples for dessert. Dinner for November 17th will be Beef Stew.

    Please bring your own drink and drinking vessel... as well as a flashlight or lantern, since the park's path lighting is not currently running.

    I added a page for death and taxes, it's a work in progress. Fall Harvest has been changed too.

    Don't forget the Arts and Sciences Open House and Business meeting is Sunday November 9th. Open House starts around noonish and ends about 9pm, meeting around 2pm.

    We will have a dance practice/social hour/dinner on Monday, the 27th, at 7pm. Please join us at Pigeon Creek Lodge. Location information is below. Since those of us who worked on the weekend's Fall Harvest Festival feast might be a little tired of the feast food, I have put away most of those leftovers for future mondays... this week we will be enjoying a selection of soups, bread, and some deserts. (There will be a vegetarian selection.) Please bring your own drink and drinking vessel... I'll provide the rest.

    We don't have a place and time scheduled at the moment. I just thought I'd post this so no one tries to show up at Pigeon Creek tonight.

    We have been bumped from the library for this next Monday -- they're having a "meet the candidates" event. So, I have contacted Ygrainne (Kristin Faigh) who has graciously allowed us to meet at Lake Harbor
    Methodist Church. (location information below)

    I think we all agree the Library is a good location, and I will continue to try to get in contact with the person in charge of the meeting rooms to secure that for our future use. However, the library does reserve the right to
    bump us if they have an event they wish to hold.

    So, I'll see everyone at Lake Harbor Methodist Church, Oct. 6th at 7pm.

    Dance Practice for Monday the 29th will be held at Spring Lake District Library. (address and map below.) Look for the red "Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc." banner to your right as you enter the lobby.

    PLEASE NOTE TIME CHANGE!
    Dance practice will start at 7:00 pm, and run until the library closes at 8:30 pm.

    The library limits any group to 12 room reservations per calendar year... so I am still looking for an alternative location. If need be, the Pigeon Creek Lodge is available to us whenever the ski trails are closed through the winter.

    The library reserves the right to cancel or change reservations within "a reasonable amount of time" and may cancel our meeting at their discretion if there is a severe weather warning. Therefore, PLEASE LOOK AT OUR ANNOUNCEMENT BOARD BEFORE DRIVING TO PRACTICE! If you desire a phone call, please send to amy@urick.com to be put on the call list.
